KTL Europe Branch, Sales and Operations Manager

Position: Branch, Sales and Operations Manager   

KTL Europe UK is rapidly expanding and seeking an experienced, confident and dynamic individual to join our team.

KTL Europe UK is a branch office of a large multinational freight forwarding company, with multiple worldwide offices.

We offer Worldwide multimodal shipping by air, sea and road and in house customs brokerage. 

Since our inception we have grown rapidly, we now require a Branch Manager with sales and operations experience.

The candidate must have a can-do attitude and enjoy working in a busy environment. We are establishing a new branch office location to be confirmed. 

About the Role:

Full responsibility for branch office including pricing and sales, overseeing operations and commercial activities, developing more business with customers, KTL sales team and overseas offices and agent partners. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

Monitoring and pricing of our sales enquiries as they arrive, as part of the commercial team you will be given relevant training and guidance on pricing and how to arrange shipments from start to handover to our operations department. Working closely with our Commercial Manager and Managing Director the role is key to driving the company forward. 

The candidate must have relevant sales experience in Air, Ocean and Road freight. Along with a strong understand of UK operations. 

We are looking for a committed, innovative and energetic approach and the successful candidate will play a key role in our UK commercial plans. There is excellent opportunity to grow and progress with our rapidly evolving company. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining Customer network 
  • New Customer development including Trade lane management
  • Customer Visits Following up on and generation of Sales Leads
  • Presenting monthly and quarterly performance reports to Managing Director 
  • On boarding Customers with Operations team as required. 
  • Compiling Customer visit reports and updating information on CRM System 
  • Attending UK National Sales meetings 
  • Ability to manage own work diary, organizing appointments 
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements and solutions globally; develop and negotiate contracts and integrate contract requirements with business operations
  • Attend industry functions such as events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and trends

Skills Required:

  • Good knowledge of customs procedures 
  • Experience in import and export
  • Understanding of Air and Sea 
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Good IT Skills, previous experience of cargowise ONE a distinct advantage
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • High levels of accuracy
  • Strong Customer care skills
  • Turkish language a distinct advantage 
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Research and finding best pricing
  • Dealing with our partners and offices around the world
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers – negotiate where necessary.
  • Assist with Operations and management as required.
