Importing vehicles into the UK

Importing a vehicle into the UK can be a complicated process. 

KTL Europe are well versed in the complexities and can help you arrange the freight, transport and customs clearance including collection in the country of origin or alternatively can arrange the UK customs clearance upon arrival in the UK. We understand the different types of vehicle Import, whether it be a classic or vintage vehicle, or a relocation back to the UK we can handle the shipping, customs clearance and registration.

If the vehicle is under 10 Years old you may need EU Type Approval, which costs in the region of £2,000, which we can also arrange for you.

Regardless of the vehicles age and status all vehicles into the UK have to be registered with the customs NOVA Scheme, and we take care of that as STANDARD on all our vehicle imports.

If the vehicle is Vintage it is normally classified by HM customs as DUTY Free and with a reduced VAT Liability of 5% instead of the normal 20% Liability. If the vehicle is a relocation or change of residence to the UK then we can help to classify this with HM customs and advice on what Customs Forms and documentation is required.
