KTL Europe are pleased to share the news that in February 2025 Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk are launching a joint venture which will operate in to the London Gateway.

It is great news as most of the Far East/ Chinese carriers offer either Southampton and Felixstowe and will lead in reliability and drive the future of sustainability.

They have signed an agreements for a long-term collaboration which will be known as “Gemini Cooperation’

It will cover seven trades and offer 57 services. The fleet of the new partnership will consist of around 340 modern and efficient vessels, many ready to adopt cleaner fuels, with a total standing capacity of ~3.7 million. They are focused on delivering the promise of 90% schedule reliability."

As announced in October 2024, the Gemini network currently plans to route via the Cape of Good Hope. The partners both say they will continue to closely monitor and analyse the latest developments and their impact on the security situation in the Red Sea and only return to the Red Sea once it is safe to do so.

They have committed to enhance your supply chains and work together towards mutual success.
