Export of Military Vehicles Following Testing in the UK

KTL UK was appointed to manage the return logistics of military vehicles and components that had been imported into the United Kingdom for specialist testing. Once testing was completed, our team was responsible for collecting, preparing, and exporting the cargo back to Saudi Arabia under strict regulatory and operational constraints.

The cargo included two military vehicle chassis along with multiple crates and pallets of associated parts. Due to the size and nature of the items, a HIAB vehicle equipped with boom and bar lifting capabilities was deployed to recover the cargo from a secure testing facility. This phase required careful planning and experienced handling to ensure the safe lifting and transport of sensitive defence-related equipment.

Following collection, all items were moved to KTL’s secure warehouse in London for export preparation. The two chassis were loaded onto a flat rack container and secured using industry best practices, including full sheeting, strapping, and lashing. The remaining parts were repacked, consolidated, and loaded into a single 40-foot high cube container, ensuring optimal space usage and protection during transit.

Due to the military classification of the cargo, the export presented a number of challenges. Regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, and limited carrier availability all had to be carefully navigated. Our team engaged extensively with shipping lines, port authorities, and export control bodies to ensure that all documentation was in order and that a compliant and capable carrier could be secured for the final leg of the journey.

Once all preparations were complete, KTL coordinated the final transport of both containers to port, arranged lifting to the vessel, and oversaw the successful departure of the shipment bound for Saudi Arabia.
