Young Forwarders Network.

This was the first event for the Solent branch of the Young Forwarders Network.

Louie is Chair and Tom is the deputy chair who both work for KTL Europe. On the day they had a presentation from Ben Dempsey who is the Sales Manager at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. In the presentation it was discussed about the day-to-day operations of the port, as well as showing their consideration of their customer’s needs. It was also discussed how they have adapted following the COVID pandemic and the Red Sea attacks.

It was great for the team to see some of their upcoming projects for sustainability.

Following the presentation the guys had a tour around the port in Southampton, Hampshire. They were shown and Ben explained to the team the way a RoRo shipment would typically work. The guys really enjoyed seeing all aspects from the unloading of trains and vehicle transporters through to the loading onto the vessel.

It was a great day for Louie and Tom.
