Shipping a Compressor to Mexico

Recently KTL Europe shipped this large compressor that weighs a staggering 12,800kg. We spoke to Amanda who works on our sales team to find out more.

How did the customer get in contact with KTL Europe?

An agent from Mexico that we have worked with before on numerous occasions got in contact with our dedicated Sales team.

What did they ask us to quote for?

We were asked to quote for the movement of the compressor from UK to Veracruz. We were advised at the time that it was in gauge and needed to be shipped on a 20’ / 40’ Flat Rack but cargo was still under packing review.

What is our process of getting back to them?

We sent through a rate for 20’ and 40’ flat rack as they were not sure what size they would be using at the time.  The quote was accepted for the 20’ in gauge flat rack, however, on receipt of dimensions we found that this would be an out of gauge flat rack and were required to send through the new rates which were accepted and we then proceeded to do the shipment. 

How it was compressor shipped?

This was shipped on a flat rack via Sea Freight from UK to Veracruz.

Did they take out KTL Insurance?

We did offer insurance, however, were advised that the consignee had already taken out their own insurance on this shipment.

Did you receive any feedback?

Once we had receive the pictures, we forwarded them to our client who was really happy with the lashing of the machine. The had previously had a bad experience in the past with a similar shipment.

They were also very glad with the level of service and extended their gratitude to the whole team.
