From the 1st January 2021 current guidance states that all EU Goods will require Import and Export customs clearance at the UK Border. Myles has put together a list of what you need to do going forwards.

At KTL Europe we aim to set out the requirement and solutions to Importing and Exporting to the EU but here is what you need to do:

Makes sure you have a valid EORI

Check your Tariff Codes

Register as Importer/Exporter

Register for CFSP

Register for DAN/Deferment

Develop a relationship with freight agent/clearance agent to arrange export customs

Ensure Tariff Codes are up to date

Check any Import DUTY or Tariff/requirements on IMPORT Goods.

What your Suppliers or Customers in the EU Should do:

Exports to EU –

Customers should apply for Authorised Consignee Status

Customers to check any documentation, Tariff requirements on goods from the UK

Imports from the EU –

Supplier should register for EORI

Supplier should ensure Commodity Codes/Export Codes are up to date

Supplier should raise invoice and packing list and arrange export Customs at frontier

Supplier should present copy of export customs to Importer
